Big red noses. Flushed cheeks. Bloodshot eyes. Yes, we can all recognise a heavy drinker when we see one, and it’s not a good look. So how great would it be to discover a spirit that promises to undo the ravages of time and keep you looking in the first flush of youth?

Most anti-ageing regimes adhere to a predictably puritanical pattern. Sleep, kale by the bucket load, endless working out and strictly no smoking or drinking are the usual joyless order of the day. So far so dreary.

But a new gin, which promises to reach the parts that others cannot, has just been launched, described by its creators as “the alcoholic equivalent of a facial”.
Welcome to Anti-aGin, the first ever gin produced with skin-boosting ingredients.

The 40% spirit has been distilled with pure collagen, which is what makes youthful skin springy and plump – collagen levels naturally decrease with age, leading to loss of firmness and the dreaded wrinkles.
The wonder drink is said to be packed full of antioxidants and skin-healing botanicals, including nettle, chamomile, witch hazel and gotu kola, which can allegedly help reduce cellulite and sun damage.
This is on top of the traditional gin base botanicals of juniper, coriander and angelica root with a cardamom finish.
Created by Warner Leisure Hotels, in collaboration with London food art company Bompas & Parr, it’s available at all 13 hotel locations in the UK, and online at drinksupermarket.com. £34.99
