The annual San Diego Restaurant week takes place from 21 to 28 January 2018
Easy-going San Diego is the second largest city in California, and the place is blessed with Instagram-worthy scenery – swinging palm trees and white beaches, plus a lively surf culture and enough restaurants to keep international and domestic tourists happy.
When it comes to food, you see local institutions like George’s at the Cove – often voted as one of the best foodie spots in America – up against an almost endless stream of newcomers and street food vendors. And there is also the Cali-Baja flavour revolution, combining Mexico’s Baja-Med scene with California’s emphasis on fresh and locally-sourced ingredients.
With such a vibrant dining scene, it’s only natural to see San Diego hosts an annual Restaurant Week celebrating the thriving food culture. In 2018, the San Diego Restaurant Week will take place for seven days from Jan 21 to 28.
This feast for the senses has over 180 participating restaurants – span across the county from South Bay to the borders of Fallbrook – offering a prix-fixe menu. Menus range from US$20-50 per person for a three-course meal.
Highlights:
- The famous Hotel Del Coronado offers a three-course menu at US$50 per person at the sunset bar on the beachfront.
- Bali Hai on the Shelter Island Drive offers a two-course meal at US$30 per person.
- The Hake Kitchen & Bar in La Jolla provides a seafood-focused menu for US$30 per person.
